Hi, I’m Kaleigh!

I am a dedicated Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master of Social Work from Wilfrid Laurier University who practices both clinical psychotherapy and supportive counselling. I work with adults, teens (13+) and couples.

I am passionate about delivering therapeutic interventions that address the social, emotional, relational, behavioural, and psychological needs of individuals in order to address presenting problems in a complete and holistic way. I believe in the connection between the mind, body and soul, and I work to align all parts of self in order to help you better understand yourself and guide you into making transformational changes to your own life. I believe with the right tools, everyone has the power to be their own healer and change their life.

I find it a privilege and honour to walk alongside you in your journey to wellness. My commitment to you is to create a safe, confidential, and supportive environment that emphasizes awareness, development, growth and change. My goal is to guide you to break free from reactive cycles of unconscious living and coping, and empower you to become who you want to be in order to live an authentic, healthy and meaningful life.

My Approach

With 10 years of experience, my areas of specialty include attachment and relational trauma, relationship issues, self worth and self esteem, self sabotage and problematic behaviours, unhelpful thinking patterns, addiction and substance abuse, depression and anxiety.

Clinically, I follow an eclectic framework informed and influenced strongly by Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I use an attachment focused, strengths-based, client-centred, recovery-oriented, and trauma-informed approach in treatment planning and providing optimal psychosocial care and psychoeducation.

I’m not afraid to show clients my true, authentic self and I believe modelling authentically allows for the magic of counselling to fully come to fruition.

Kaleigh’s Reading Corner

  • I believe in the mind-body connection as it relates to mental health. I love this book because it explores the mind-body link and offers insight into how disease can be the body’s way of saying no to what the mind cannot, or will not acknowledge. It dives into the role of an individual’s emotional make up in an array of common diseases which I believe is important to understand when making changes to your life.

  • This book was instrumental in transforming the way I practice but also changed my life. This book offers a new theory of trauma, helps you recognize your patterns, heal from your past and create who you want to be. I can’t recommend this book enough!

  • It offers compelling insight into understanding adult attachment and why some people seem to struggle in relationships, while for others it is effortless. One of the biggest reasons I love this book and recommend it is not only because it helps us understand ourselves and our partners, but because it also offers ways to build stronger and more fulfilling connections with others.
